Memorial Day this year took place on May 25th 2020.

Some would say it was a boring event due to Covid-19/ pandemic shut down in most quarantined cities across the U.S.

For others it was a day they will never forget. It was the day many of us watched a mobile video of an unknown man whose life was being taken away right in front of our screens. Social media exploded. The video surfaced on all platforms. Twitter, Reddit, Instagram, Facebook, etc. The video which showed a man pleading for his life as he said the words “I can’t breathe”.

The video and many other videos have now surfaced all over the internet and we now have a very detailed timeline as to what happened on that day and more of a backstory concerning the people involved. One of those being George Floyd. We learned about his life, his struggles, his friends, his family and what he meant to all of these people. Within hours of the videos release Minneapolis residents took to the streets to protest the acts of police brutality. Soon, many cities across the U.S. would join in protest in the name of George Floyd and the Black Lives Matter movement. One of those cities being Las Vegas.

Las Vegas residents took to The Strip and Container Park / Fremont Street to protest.

Protesting residents would then meet with Las Vegas Metro Police Dept. where things would escalate.

The following images were captured on May 30th , 2020 near Fremont Street Experience, El Cortez and Container Park.
