On Friday February 19th the family of Jorge Gomez along with their attorneys, friends and allies held a second press conference in front of the Federal Courthouse to announce the new video evidence from that night along with the name of the 5th officer involved in the killing of Jorge Gomez.
• LVMPD Officer Squeo fired 5 less than lethal rounds at Jorge that night.
• Squeo was also been involved in the fatal shootings of Brian Keith Day (2015) & Rex Wilson (2016) .
• The new video evidence shows that Jorge did NOT threaten officers like they had claimed and did NOT engage in any way with them.
• March around Federal Building was led by MTAH
Chants demanding District Attorney Steven B. Wolfson indict all 5 officers for their involvement in the killing of #JorgeGomez
• Birthday celebration included family & friends reciting statements & memories along with birthday singing, birthday cake & the release of butterflies in the honor of Jorge’s 26th birthday (2/19/21)

“ Rodolpho Gonzalez, one of the attorneys for the Jorge Gomez family, spoke on behalf of the family Friday morning, sharing new video evidence of Gomez’ police murder. The videos showed, contrary to the original police narrative, that Jorge Gomez did not ever engage LVMPD officers the night of June 1st, 2020, with his firearm or any weapon. Rather, LVMPD John Squeo can be seen shooting the initial non lethal rounds at Jorge Gomez at the top of the stairs of the Lloyd D. George Federal Courthouse. Squeo’s non lethal rounds set off the police shooting, as Jorge Gomez ran away from Squeo’s non lethal rounds he was shot with lethal rounds by four other LVMPD officers. “ - Nissa (FTP)

“ During the press conference for Jorge Gomez hosted by the activist group More Than a Hashtag, the five LVMPD officers’ faces were revealed.
Their names are (from left to right):
Vernon Ferguson
John Squeo
Ryan Fryman
Andrew Locher
Dan Emerton
The group has been routinely protesting outside the individual officers’ houses demanding their arrests. The attorneys, family and community are calling upon Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson to indict the officers, now that new evidence shows the LVMPD set off and escalated the situation while Gomez showed no signs of aggression or threat to the officers. Like his predecessors, Wolfson has never prosecuted an officer for killing a civilian despite the tens of killings that have happened under his watch. “ - Nissa (FTP)
