On September 19, 1991, two German tourist discovered a frozen skeletal body in the Ötzal Alps in Austria. After excavating the mummified corpse they found 61 tattoo markings on the body of “Ötzi The Iceman”.
It is believed that Ötzi is over FIVE - THOUSAND years old, making him the oldest known body to have tattoos in human history.

Photography has been around since the early 1800’s. Within the next couple of years photography progressed thanks to Louis Daguerre, George Eastman - the founder of Kodak , and Edwin Land - the founder of Polaroid . The 1900’s were even bigger as cameras were being reinvented and sold to the everyday consumer. 120mm cameras, 35mm cameras, Polaroid instant film, Point and Shoot, and digital cameras all came to the forefront during this era.

Opening a business anywhere can be a gamble, especially in a small town like Bullhead City. Not only is there financial risk at stake but also the possibility of failure. Many factors fall into that category like support system, team stability, location, marketing etc. We’ve seen many businesses open and fail within their first year in this area. With the risks of having one location, people wouldn’t dare to open or take over a second location. But at times, when opportunities are presented to you, you have to roll the dice.

When most people hear the word hairstylist, they instantly picture a female. Which is a common misunderstanding, because the field is shared with males as well. Some of the more well-known male hairdressers include Vidal Sassoon, Paul Mitchell and John Frieda. They have changed the game for future male hairstylists giving a better platform to show their skills under the stereotype. A lot of males have taken on cosmetology careers in the 20th century due to the high demand, lucrative pay and endless opportunities in the industry.

For thousands of years (yes, thousands) people have been altering their appearance and hairstyles. If you look back in history you will notice that men’s haircuts and facial hair styles have changed immensely over the different eras. These styles date all the way back 5000 BC, beginning with the ancient Egyptians who would use oyster shells as a blade. Barbers also played a role in World War I and II, as well as being surgeons for a short period of time before the professions were officially separated in 1745.

The goal with the stories was to give insight into the lives of these men who are chasing their dreams.
Some of these men have multiple obstacles in front of them. Whether it be financial, health or family issues, they’ve rolled with the punches and have yet to throw in the towel.
